We made sure to get some 1 yr old pictures from our favorite photographer that did our maternity and newborn pics! www.amandawermersphotography.com
We went to the same park where we did our maternity pictures. The area is beautiful and offers great scenery! We also decided to do a cake smash. Aidan was okay having the cake on his body, but wanted nothing to do with it when we smashed his hand in it. Which is strange, as he eats with his hands and never seems to mind being messy or sticky. Silly boy!

It looks like Ron's last year of medical school is definitely going to be our most interesting. The beginning of May I was told that my position as an Administrative Assistant had been eliminated and that as of May 15th I was going to be unemployed. I had known this was coming since they started restructuring the company last summer, I just wasn't sure when it was going to happen. It wasn't a surprise, but it never feels good to be "let go", especially since Ron will be doing all his interview rotations this year and we have to figure out how to pay for half of them. So, lousy timing, but not much you can do about it. Since we only have a year left here in CO we decided that I would remain home w/Aidan. We had already taken out a loan for childcare, so we decided to use that to live on instead. Aidan has had chronic ear infections since April (but he is finally ear infection free) and we are hoping now that he is home w/me where I can control the environment we (and I mean me too) won't be sick so often. So, over the last couple of months we've had a lot of fun at home! We like to play in mom's cookie cutters!

Every year we get discounted baseball tickets from RVU. This year we got to bring Aidan! It was a cooler day at the beginning of May, so poor little dude didn't end up overheating. We had great seats!! They even gave Aidan a pin to celebrate his first game! Super fun!
We celebrated Mother's Day last year, but I was about two weeks from my due date, so it was a bit different this year. We drove up to Idaho Springs (which is an absolutely beautiful drive) w/some friends of ours. We had a nice lunch and then wandered around looking through the shops (it's an old mining town turned tourist trap) and had a nice walk along the river. Overall, total success!
