Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family! We spent Christmas with my family in Deer Lodge this year. It was a nice quiet, relaxing visit!

I enjoyed some time with my doggie, Max, too. We had fun in the snow!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

No matter where we went for Christmas this year, there was plenty of snow to go around. In Montana, where we enjoyed Christmas with my family, there was only a few inches of snow, but the temperatures would dip into the negative double digits at night.

This is our backyard in Deer Lodge.

This is the scenery we arrived to in Logan. There is probably over 2 feet of snow here. It is beautiful, but boy is it a mess.

Christmas Memories

I thought this would be a fun Christmas memory to share with all my family and friends! December 17, 2002 was one of the best days of my life! I was returning to Montana from my first semester at the University of Oklahoma, in Norman. My boyfriend at the time, Ron, met me at the airport with half a dozen roses beaming from ear to ear! We get to his house, and I run upstairs to drop off my luggage before going downstairs for dinner. When I turn on the light, I see my kiss-kiss bears holding up a heart stating "marry me" (see picture)! I turn around, and there is Ron holding out my heart-shaped ruby engagement ring! Of course you know the ending...I said "YES" and we are living happily ever after!

Christmas goodies!

It is that time of year again folks! I love Christmas so much that my Christmas tree has been up since the weekend before Thanksgiving! This weekend I was feeling Christmasy (the first good snowfall helped...pictures to come) and I made fudge, sugar cookies, and a friend of mine and I made ginger cookie type ornaments! Lots of fun! Even Ron came into the kitchen and helped frost cookies! Enjoy the pics! And Happy Holidays!

Autumn in Logan

I have been meaning to post these pictures for weeks, but things have been crazy (as too be expected with the end of the semester coming quickly). Anyhow, here are some of my favorites, I hope you enjoy them!

Medical School Interview

Ron had his very first medical school interview this lat week with the University of Utah medical school! He was very excited and said the interview went well! I think we would both be happy moving to SLC if things work out. I spent the last two years of my bachelors degree at the U and enjoyed the school, so if Ron is accepted and decides to go there I hope he has a great experience too!

Pumpkin Walk

It was a beautiful fall evening in Logan, so Ron and I decided to go check out the Pumpkin Walk. People in the Cache Valley volunteer their time and talents to painting faces on pumpkins, and also the background they are stationed at. Some of the pumpkins turn out pretty amazing! I have posted some of the more interesting displays (and of course a couple fun pictures of Ron and myself)!

Forecasting the Weather

For all of you who know me well, I graduated in 2005 as an official meteorologist. Up to this point, unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to use my "weatherologist"skills. This school year, the Utah Climate Center (on the USU campus) volunteered to do the weather forecasts for UPR (Utah Public Radio) station here on campus! There are four of us meteorologists involved, and we each take one week a month! This week was my first week recording a forecast! All I can say is that it is so cool to hear your voice on the radio! he he he :-)

Fun Fall Weekend!

This last weekend, was the absolutely most beautiful fall weekend I have seen in a long time. The weather and temperatures were perfect and we had lots of fun company to spend it with. Our friend Shaun came up from California with his girlfriend, Leah, whom he proposed to at Bryce Canyon! Anyhow, we had lots of dinners out, movie watching and just plain fun.

Friday night we had a mini-birthday part for Leah with Dairy Queen ice cream cake.

Saturday we went 4-wheeling with Shaun's sister's family and then had another birthday part & football game watching evening at Michele's house!

Mardi Gras Murder Mystery!

Well, we had another fun filled, birthday murder mystery party. This party was centered around a murder (Pierre DuPre was strangled with a set of Mardi Gras beads) at a Mardi Gras party (hence the beautifully decorated mask decorations)! This party celebrated Ron and our friend, Michele's, birthdays! Yvone made beautiful cakes for both birthday kids (Michele-purple cake with yellow flowers, Ron-brain cake). Below is a listing of the participants (and Ron was so excited about being the murderer this time):
Matthew Crovitz (boy from the Bayou/fisherman): Yvone
Alexi DuPre (Pierre's socialites daughter) : Yvone
Bourbon DuPre (jazz musician : Mike
Melissa DuPre (Pierre's new wife;tramp) : Michele
Connika Gothika (eccentric novelist) : Amanda
Stephen Peek (DuPre famiily attorney) : Ron
Cayenne Pepper (DuPre family chef) : Elbert
Elise St. Gresch (live in maid at DuPre Chateau) : LyndaAfter our dinner party, we went out into the hills and went shooting (our friend, Elbert, brought his brand new gun). What is more fun than good food, birthday cakes and guns! :-) Ha ha ha If you look at the background, you'll see Cache Valley at sunset...doesn't get much more beautiful than that!
