Weekend Fun

Our friends, Shawn, Melissa, Ally & Kaiden all were in town this last weekend. Ron of course had to work, but we managed to get some Ron time in. We went and enjoyed a USU vs Utah hockey game Friday night! I am happy to say of which we won!

And then on Saturday we went and had some one on one time with the ducks at First Dam. A little cold and rainy, but always a good time!

Fall Adventures in Nevada

My friend JL invited me to road trip w/her as she made a trip down to Elko, Nevada. During some of our down time we decided to take a drive through Lamoille Canyon, as it is supposed to be absolutely beautiful in the fall. That was no exaggeration. Here are a few pictures of the beautiful trees, as well as JL and I being silly! It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Notice the clouds, we barely made it out of the canyon before it started pouring!

We met our friend, Russ, for dinner that evening! Here are a few of the fun pictures we took. I was shocked that Russ behaved so we could have a nice picture. He is well known for being difficult and always managing to cover up his face when the camera is aimed his direction. I think his fantastic fiance had some hand in this turn around!

Weekend in Bear Lake

Thanks to our friends, Matt & JL, they gave us a weekend up at a time share at Bear Lake. What a nice relaxing weekend w/the hubby. We didn't do anything except relax.

We had dinner at Cafe Sabor!

We went for a walk around the lake!

And a sunset walk...what is better than that!

Can't forget the beautiful fall colors!

Collision with a Stingy Bug

So, the first week back to class (hopefully my last semester in school) was a doosie! I was minding my own business as I am riding my bike home from school Tuesday afternoon and notice a large bug flying right at me. So I swerve to miss it (of course when I get to this part of the story my mother immediately assumes I either wrecked my bike and tore up my knees or ran over a pedestrian), anyhow I don't miss it and I feel this sharp pain and my arm starts tingling and stinging. So, I go home and ice it and Ron tells me to quit being a baby (so much for getting any pity from anyone) it's no big deal. So, I wake up Wednesday and it's a bit irritated and red, but I don't think much of it. But by Thursday, this is what I wake up to (this picture doesn't do the redness and size justice):

My arm is swollen, this red circle is about 4 1/2 inches, it hurts and the itching is unbearable. So much for, it's no big deal. Ugh! Of course when I call the doctor to make an appointment, they have me talk to a nurse who tells me they can't do anything for me unless it starts to streak; just apply the Benadryl cream. Unfortunately that only gives temporary relief. Anyhow, to make a long story short, the arm is almost healed (of course it STILL itches) and now I am ten times more scared of stingy bugs. And since I don't know what stung me, I'm afraid of all of them. So, when you see me running away screaming and there is a stingy bug following me...don't laugh please squish it! :-)

Ron's Lagoon Birthday Celebration!

My honey turned 29 yesterday, and celebrated by spending the day at Lagoon w/our friends. For those of you who don't know about Lagoon, it's a great amusement park located near Farmington, UT (just outside SLC). Ron loves ride and I'm not so much into them, I definitely prefer Lagoon-A-Beach (waterslides)! Well, this was the day to overcome my fear and finally get onto the scary rides and learn to love them! Couldn't have asked for a better birthday celebration! Enjoy all the pics!
The birthday boy!

Successful Thesis Defense

Yesterday Ron defended his second master's thesis; this time in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. He gave a wonderful presentation and successful defended. He also had no corrections to make, which is generally unusual. I am so proud of my husband! He can accomplish anything he set his smart little mind to! Congrats hubby!
