Pumpkin Walk
It was a beautiful fall evening in Logan, so Ron and I decided to go check out the Pumpkin Walk. People in the Cache Valley volunteer their time and talents to painting faces on pumpkins, and also the background they are stationed at. Some of the pumpkins turn out pretty amazing! I have posted some of the more interesting displays (and of course a couple fun pictures of Ron and myself)!

Forecasting the Weather
For all of you who know me well, I graduated in 2005 as an official meteorologist. Up to this point, unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to use my "weatherologist"skills. This school year, the Utah Climate Center (on the USU campus) volunteered to do the weather forecasts for UPR (Utah Public Radio) station here on campus! There are four of us meteorologists involved, and we each take one week a month! This week was my first week recording a forecast! All I can say is that it is so cool to hear your voice on the radio! he he he :-)

Fun Fall Weekend!
This last weekend, was the absolutely most beautiful fall weekend I have seen in a long time. The weather and temperatures were perfect and we had lots of fun company to spend it with. Our friend Shaun came up from California with his girlfriend, Leah, whom he proposed to at Bryce Canyon! Anyhow, we had lots of dinners out, movie watching and just plain fun.
Friday night we had a mini-birthday part for Leah with Dairy Queen ice cream cake.

Saturday we went 4-wheeling with Shaun's sister's family and then had another birthday part & football game watching evening at Michele's house!

Mardi Gras Murder Mystery!
Well, we had another fun filled, birthday murder mystery party. This party was centered around a murder (Pierre DuPre was strangled with a set of Mardi Gras beads) at a Mardi Gras party (hence the beautifully decorated mask decorations)! This party celebrated Ron and our friend, Michele's, birthdays! Yvone made beautiful cakes for both birthday kids (Michele-purple cake with yellow flowers, Ron-brain cake). Below is a listing of the participants (and Ron was so excited about being the murderer this time):
Matthew Crovitz (boy from the Bayou/fisherman): Yvone
Alexi DuPre (Pierre's socialites daughter) : Yvone
Bourbon DuPre (jazz musician : Mike
Melissa DuPre (Pierre's new wife;tramp) : Michele
Connika Gothika (eccentric novelist) : Amanda
Stephen Peek (DuPre famiily attorney) : Ron
Cayenne Pepper (DuPre family chef) : Elbert
Elise St. Gresch (live in maid at DuPre Chateau) : Lynda

After our dinner party, we went out into the hills and went shooting (our friend, Elbert, brought his brand new gun). What is more fun than good food, birthday cakes and guns! :-) Ha ha ha If you look at the background, you'll see Cache Valley at sunset...doesn't get much more beautiful than that!

Fun at the Seattle Mariner's Game
Who doesn't like a baseball games in the summer, right? Well, while we were in Seattle we decided to catch a Mariner's game! Our friends had extra tickets, so we couldn't have been happier. The last time we were in Seattle, we went to an afternoon game and sat in 90 degree heat...which tends to make the game long and miserable. This time we attended a night game...it had just rained (hence the rainbow picture) and the sun was going down! Perfect night for a baseball game! We had lots of yummy food (pizza, hot dogs, peanuts & cotton candy), met some people from Montana and enjoyed our last evening in WA! What a fun evening! :-) Too bad the Mariner's lost in the 10th inning!

Seattle Wedding!
Ron and I just returned from a few days of vacation in Seattle! Ron's friend from high school, Mike, married his sweetheart of 8 years, Krissy. Ron was an usher so we attended the rehearsal dinner, which was held at a beautiful restaurant located right on the harbor (Edmonds, WA), and then the wedding was held at a beautiful park (Shoreline, WA)! The wedding was beautiful, and as an interesting touch instead of a wedding cake they had cupcakes of all flavors (vanilla, carrot cake, lemon, coconut). I wish I had gotten a picture of the cupcakes, I thought it was such a fun idea!! We had a very fun time eating and dancing with our friends! The few days were we stayed there, the temperatures were in the 70s with lots of sunshine! It could not have been more fun!

Lynda's Murder Mystery Birthday Party!
What a better way to celebrate your 26th birthday than a Murder Mystery party (and no I wasn't the murderer)!! :-) Our friends threw quite a party! A super yummy dinner consisting of shrimp, fruit & dip, potatoes and roast and of course the birthday cake (purple Hawaiian flower)! The title of our party was "Lethal Luau" so of course it was themed in Hawaii! Our characters were:
Nadia : swimsuit model (Michelle)
Joey : bodacious surfer dude (Yvone)
Holly : wealthy socialite (me)
Chief Wiki-Wiki: tribal chief (Mike)
Leilani : Hawaiian hula dancer (Amanda)
Les : camera-toting, befuddled tourist (Ron)
As a funny side note, my character was married to a billionaire. Her husband died and she hid it so she could continue to live in luxury. Ron's character escaped from prison!! Joey was the murder! Here are some super fun pictures (and a movie) of how I spent my 26th birthday! Enjoy!
