Birthday Celebrations

Well, another birthday has come and gone! I am 27 this year...where has the time gone! My friend, Melissa, threw me a birthday party the Wednesday before my birthday! We had fajitas for dinner, cake and just lots of good company! Here are some of the fun pics! Just as a disclaimer, I gave my friends daughter, Alaina, the camera...made for some interesting pics! Again, thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday and helped me celebrate!

Happy 4th of July!

So, as we have noticed living in Utah the last 6 years, fireworks celebrations generally occur before the 4th! So, we went and enjoyed a fireworks show on the 2nd out at Hyrum w/our friend Melissa, her two kids, and her mom! A very fun evening. The 3rd is a tradition for Ron and I to watch the stadium fireworks show on our lawn! Ron got home just in time from work to enjoin them! Everyone loves fireworks!!

I just want to thank all those that serve our country! We appreciate everything you do! Happy 4th of July!

As part of the three day weekend, I went hiking up the Crimson Trail with my friend Danielle. It was a beautiful morning to go for a long hike. A great way to start a three day weekend!

Oquirrh Temple

For those of you who know me well, I am sure this post is a bit of a surprise. No, I have not converted but that doesn't mean I am not interested in the Utah culture. My friend, Kali, was visiting Utah and invited me to the Oquirrh Temple open house w/her and her family. I decided to take her up on the offer, to visit with her but also to appease my interest in what the inside of a temple holds. It was an interesting experience, and I was luck to go w/Kali who gave me a more detailed tour than I would have received walking through myself. It was a beautiful building, and I had a wonderful visit with my friends! Enjoy the pictures.

Memorial Day

I decided that this year we would get out of the house and do something fun for Memorial Day! So, we decided to go up to Bear Lake for a picnic.

And ice cream (that Ron has been promising me since I moved up here in 2005).

We took some fun pics, until the the storms clouds moved in, and then home we went!

5th Anniversary

I thought I would start out by reminiscing about the day we were married! The day started out warm, sunny and beautiful and ended in a very peaceful rainstorm! What an amazing day! A happy couple!

And now, 5 years later! Still happy, but with so many wonderful and frustrating experiences we have weathered today. Life is so wonderful, yet can frustrate a person to their inner core...but thankfully we were blessed with each other for support and love!
We had a wonderful afternoon at the park; Ron took a nap and I had some time to catch up on my reading.

Then we had Aggie ice cream before going out to dinner!

Next, our longtime friend, JL, joined us for dinner out!

We ended our evening at 1st dam, feeding the geese!

We Are Moving To....

Parker, Colorado will be where we call home. Rocky Vista University called Ron Monday night and told him they really liked him, enjoyed his interview, felt he more than exceeded their expectations and really wanted him to attend their school...BUT!!! Just as they were preparing to send out his acceptance letter, all the students paid there deposits filling the class up completely unexpected by RVUCOM. So, AGAIN, (in a sense) we are on another waiting list, but the silver-lining is that he is early accepted in the 2010 medical school class. (By the way, if I didn't mention it, Ron is also on the waiting list at the University of Utah.) Anyhow, if any of the students choose not to attend there, Ron will be accepted for the class of 2009, otherwise we have an entire year to figure out what to do with ourselves, until August 2010 when Ron can start classes. In the meantime, I am job hunting for meteorology jobs in the Denver area (with no success) and have now started looking for any jobs that pay well enough for us to live on. Life has a tendency to be wonderful, yet cruel all at the same time. Please keep us in our prayers that things will turn out for the best even if they end up being a bit different than expected.

This is my first weather forecast for the tv station! I will tell you that it isn't perfect, but was so exciting! My original career choice had been broadcast meteorology, so this is a dream come true! For those of you who would like to be a part of my forecast, send me any of your super fun pictures of Cache Valley. We would like to put them up! Let me know what you think! :-)
